Founded in 1971 to supply hand tools, forged mechanical blank parts and forging services, Guan Yu Industrial Co., Ltd. is one of the most experienced and well-equipped players in Taiwan specializing in precision closed-die forging manufacturing.

To meet increasing demand for forged auto and motorcycle parts and accessories, the firm has gradually diversified its services to customized forging that precisely meet requirements from global customers for shape, size, tolerance and surface treatment.

Currently Guan Yu is a major supplier of forged auto and motorcycle parts (such as gears, connecting rods, shafts, etc.), mechanical parts (gears, slide blocks and other parts), and a large variety of hardware for many customers in Taiwan, Japan, Europe, the U.S., etc. In Taiwan, the company is a key original equipment (OE) supplier of forged high-precision parts to all powered two-wheeler (PTW) and all terrain vehicle (ATV) manufacturers. In the international market, Guan Yu supplies quality products to many international PTW brands, also being a tier-2 or -3 supplier to some Japanese vehicle makers.

Core Competitive Edge

Guan Yu handles both precision and general hot-forging of mainly steel alloy and stainless steel. The company says its core competitive edge lies in its in-house tooling capacity, which effectively cuts material cost, eliminates at least one or more production processes, and saves processing cost. The maker is known for precision forging that is often used to produce round items.  

Meeting world standards in product quality and corporate management, Guan Yu became ISO 9001:2000 certified as early as 2003. As part of its business expansion plan and to further strengthen technical strength, the maker moved to a modern and integrated factory in Taichung, central Taiwan, where larger punching and forging presses are installed. With the new facility, the company now has production capacity of about 450,000 forgings per month with each weighing 200g to 20kg. In 2009, the firm became TS 16949-certified to show its capacity for better services.

Guan Yu's Taichung factory now operates five production lines with more than 30 machine tools, including 1600-, 1000-, 600-, and 5-15-ton pressing machines and related equipment. There is also a comprehensive range of high-end testing and inspection instruments to assure the highest material and product quality level, including Rockwell hardness tester, eddy current tester, magnetic-particle flaw detector, magnetic particle inspection machine, coordinate measuring instrument and infrared thermometer, etc. The maker says it insists on the most stringent quality control system, inspecting every process from material input to all production procedures.
