Taipei, Dec. 27, 2012 (CENS)--Innolux Corp., a Taiwanese display panel supplier renamed from Chimei Innolux Corp., may join cooperation between Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Co., Ltd. and Japan's Sharp to manufacture larger LCD TVs in the short term, according to the CEO Tuan Hsing-chien.

Market observers pointed out that the Hon Hai-Sharp tie-up on supplying larger LCD TVs proves a big success, which perhaps motivated Tuan's above comment at a renaming event held earlier.

With Hon Hai, the flagship company of Hon Hai Group and affiliate Innolux, are believed to be contracted by Apple Inc. to supply iTV, Innolux's participation in the abovementioned partnership will help to further propel its growth in the future, according to the observers.

Tuan also hails a better business outlook in 2013, based on both Innolux's enhanced competitive edge and recovering market for display panels.

With its AMOLED (active matrix organic light emitting diode) being well developed as planned, Tuan confirmed, Innolux will kick off mass production of small-sized display panels based on the technology in 2013 as scheduled, and will also see touch models contribute significantly to revenue starting in the first half of the year.

Tuan said that his company's overall capacity utilization rate so far remains high as in the past two months. However, he indicated, output from back-end production is likely to drop due to low season in the first quarter of 2013.
