Epson Taiwan's Scanner Sales Remain No.1 in Taiwan

Taipei, Oct.4, 2012 (CENS)--Epson Taiwan Technology & Trading Ltd., a subsidiary of Japan's Seiko Epson Corp., launched an integrated mobile business solution recently, aiming to maintain the lead in the market with a new high of 50% in market share, as well as a new portable label printer for household appliance market.

L.D. Lu, a vice division chief of Epson Taiwan, said that the company's mobile business solution combines cloud-applications and intelligent mobile devices, and introduces 10 business applications for SOHOs (small office home office) and business professionals.

Epson's latest products for business include portable scanners, monochrome LED green-energy printers, and a new generation of label printers. Among which, portable scanners feature convenient portability and is applicable to a variety of materials including general documents, catalogues, receipts, and plastic cards.

Lu indicated that Taiwan's market of document scanners has been steadily growing 10% annually since 2009, with higher growing potential than picture scanners. Epson targets to be the leader with 42% market share in Taiwan, aiming to raise such figure to 50% by 2013.

Epson saw market share of laser printers in Taiwan reach 24.6%, and is optimistic about steady growth in demand. The firm's new laser printer features WiFi capability with introductory models for business applications, also aiming to raise the market share to 30%.
