Glucose Meter Maker TaiDoc to Set Up Factory in Northern Taiwan

Taipei, Sept. 7, 2012 (CENS)--TaiDoc Technology Corporation, maker, developer and manufacturer of blood glucose meters in Taiwan, recently announced to buy land to build a factory in northern Taiwan, targeting production of glucose meter parts and components to its vertical integration, saying the new facility will start mass production in 2013 with annual production value of NT$500 million (US$16.7 million).

TaiDoc registered record high quarterly revenue in the second quarter, and 31.4% year-on-year (YoY) increase in first-half revenue.

Refusing to divulge the new facility's major product categories, TaiDoc believes these new products will help to further upgrade product quality and cut costs.

Industry sources said that glucose meter-related parts and components include testing strips, meter housings, lancing devices and lancets etc., most of which are outsourced by makers in Taiwan.
