Ind. PC Maker Advantech Leads with US$0.058 in the First-half EPS

Taipei, Sept.5, 2012 (CENS)--Advantech Co. led Taiwan’s industrial PC makers in earnings per share (EPS) with NT$1.75 (US$0.058) in the second quarter, followed by Flytech Technology Co. with NT$1.7 (US$0.057), Posiflex Technology Inc. with NT$1.64 (US$0.055), IBASE Technology Inc. with NT$1.34 (US$0.045), Avalue Technology Inc. with NT$1.31 (US$0.044), and ICP Electronics Inc. with NT$1.3 (US$0.043). Axiomtec Co. saw its EPS surge 293% quarter on quarter (QoQ) to NT$0.81 (US$0.027).

Rebounded from the first quarter, Advantech recovered in Q2 and hit a new high in combined revenues with NT$2.648 billion (US$88.27 million) in June, for 30% growth in profits. K.Z. Liu, chairman of the firm, expects growing revenues in the second half and a new high again in the fourth quarter.

Flytech, a POS (point-of-sales) maker, posted NT$936 million (US$31.2 million) in combined revenues in the second quarter, with combined gross profit margin increasing to 31.66% due to growing shipments, net profits rising 24.19% QoQ to NT$154 million (US$5.13 million), and NT$1.7 (US$0.057) in EPS.

With high season in the second quarter, another POS maker Posiflex saw net profits up 63.49% QoQ to NT$103 million (US$3.43 million) due to growing revenues and capacity utilization, with NT$1.64 (US$0.055) in EPS, but suffered gross profit margin decline from the first quarter.

IBASE saw profits in the second quarter up 45%, with EPS to a new high of NT$1.34 (US$0.045) in the recent seven months. With order visibility of gaming machines to the end of this year, the firm expects steady shipments and return to NT$200 million (US$6.06 million) in revenues from September.

Avalue saw profits in the second quarter shoot up 93.5%, with NT$1.31 (US$0.044) in EPS, both new highs in the recent seven quarters. With massive orders of POS and gaming machines, along with ample orders of healthcare systems, Avalue is predicted to hit a new revenue high in the third quarter.
