Taipei, July 18, 2012 (CENS)-- Communications (D2C), a joint venture formed by three Japanese iconic enterprises including NTT DoCoMo, plans to tap Taiwan's mobile advertising market in cooperation with Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd., currently Taiwan's No.1 telecom carrier in terms of market share.

D2C was founded in 2000 by NTT DoCoMo, Dentsu Inc. and NTT AD. The joint venture opened Taiwan branch in May.

Chunghwa executives confirmed that D2C is in talks with the company over cooperation details. They estimated that the mobile advertising market would begin to take off after 2013, citing increasing popularity of apps downloads on smart mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs.

Chunghwa has installed In-App Advertisement in its Hami Apps website as a mobile advertising mechanism, which allows content developers to share advertising income with Chunghwa by adding advertising devices to their apps software.

Far EasTone Telecom Co., Ltd., Taiwan's another leading telecom carrier, is also vigorously developing presence in the mobile advertising market after acquiring New Century InfoComm Technology Co., Ltd. and ADCAST Interactive Marketing Co., Ltd.

Far EasTone executives estimated the island's mobile advertising market to explosively grow to a scale of around NT$10 billion (US$333 million at US$1:NT$30). They said mobile advertising will become next star in advertisement market.

Inmobi of India is also interested in Taiwan's mobile advertising market.

Internationally, competition for a position in mobile advertising market is also intensive among big players. Apple has muscled into this field with its iAD, compelling Google to acquire ADMob. Facebook and Research In Motion (RIM) are also vigorously moving ahead with their plans.
