Taipei, June 11, 2012 (CENS)--Ford Motor Co., the major American automaker, made its debut at the 2012 Taipei International Information Technology Show (Computex Taipei) held June 5-9 in Taipei by announcing its launch of its award-winning SYNC system in the new Focus.

Ford also announced to bring to Asia its AppLink software, the industry's only system to control smartphone apps via voice control. The company also showcased its Evos Concept car to show Ford's vision on technological integration.

Ford executives joined forums at Computex Taipei to discuss connected services, along with how it is using cloud technology to link life at home and office.

"Computex, one of the most influential computer exhibitions in the world, provides an excellent environment for Ford to highlight our commitment to not only developing and delivering the best global technologies, but also make them very user-friendly," said Thomas Fann, president, Ford Lio Ho Motor Co., the local subsidiary of American Ford.

SYNC, powered by Microsoft, is not just a technology but an experience that will have people look forward to spending time behind the wheel, said Ford Lio Ho.

Visitors to the Ford booth saw the award-winning in-car connectivity system SYNC, which allows customers in Taiwan to make phone calls or play favorite music by using voice commands. SYNC lets customers connect almost any mobile phone or digital media player to their Focus via Bluetooth and USB connection. Drivers use steering wheel-mounted controls or voice command to manage SYNC's features, Ford said.

The Evos Concept embodies Ford's new global design language and provides a glimpse of the company's vision on technology integration.
