TSE-listed Auto Parts Makers Report Good March Results

Taipei, April 17, 2012 (CENS)--Several Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE)-listed auto-parts manufacturers in Taiwan reported lucrative results for March.

Tung Thih Electronic Co., Ltd. (TTE), a major original equipment (OE) automotive-electronics supplier in Taiwan, has successfully tapped into the supply chains of Chinese automakers, including the FAW Toyota. In March, the company registered consolidate revenue of NT$350 million (US$11.7 million), up 19.6% year-on-year (YoY) and a second-highest record, expecting revenue of NT$1 billion (US$33.3 million) in the second quarter, with profit margins expected to rise as some key-component suppliers have promised to lower prices.

TTE pointed out that March is a traditional off month, so the high revenue performance is expected to further buoy the firm's morale. The Taiwanese automotive-electronics supplier used to sell products to FAW Toyota's Pre-delivery inspection (PDI) points in China, but began supplying different parts for FAW Toyota's higher-end models from March this year. In addition, the company said, its shipments to major Chinese automaker Dongfeng also increased in last month.

From April, TTE said, Japanese supplier Muruta has promised to lower prices on the probes for parking sensors by 26% to 50%.

Hota Industrial Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a major gear and transmission system maker supplying products to many international carmakers as GM of the U.S., registered record-high monthly revenue of NT$292 million (US$9.7 million), a record monthly high in company history.

E-Lead Electronic Co., Ltd., a major automotive infotainment supplier to global automakers, hit record consolidate monthly revenue of NT$270 million (US$9 million) in March, thanks to transferred orders from global customers as Honda Thailand and China after the Thai floods.
