ScinoPharm, Lextar, Tycoons Thailand Float Shares on TWSE

Taipei, Sept. 30, 2011 (CENS)--On Sept. 29, the common shares of ScinoPharm Taiwan Ltd., Lextar Electronics Corp. and the TDRs (Taiwan depository receipts) of Tycoons Worldwide Group (Thailand) Public Co. (TYCN) began public trading on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) at the launch price of NT$46, NT$17.35 and NT$14.7 per share and per unit, respectively.

ScinoPharm Taiwan (stock code: 1789) is a globally leading supplier of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). With market value of NT$29 billion, the company is Taiwan's largest listed biotechnology firm on the TWSE.

Jo Shen, president and CEO of ScinoPharm said his company has assembled a complete team of R&D experts specializing in the development of advanced manufacturing processes. Meanwhile, the company is collaborating with both domestic and foreign R&D institutions in making technological improvements that will further enhance its overall R&D efficiency and capabilities. Currently, the company employs more than 150 R&D personnel, most of whom with Ph.D and Master degrees.

The company's founding shareholders include the Uni-President Group, the National Development Fund, Taiwan Sugar Corporation, and Mega International Commercial Bank.

ScinoPharm Taiwan currently contributes 65% of the API exported from Taiwan and is now a globally leading producer of APIs for injectable anti-cancer treatments. With over 270 global pharmaceutical customers, the company has accumulated a total of 553 drug master files (DMFs), the highest in Taiwan.

Lextar (stock code: 3698) is a leading LED (light emitting diode) maker integrating upper-stream epitaxial, middle-stream chip, and downstream package, SMT and LED lighting applications. Founded in May 2008, the company is a subsidiary of AU Optronics, Taiwan's leading TFT-LCD manufacturer.

Lextar specializes in manufacturing LED epitaxial, chips and packaging, as well as energy-saving and smart lighting products. The range of applications includes LCD backlight, commercial lighting source, consumer lighting source and various lighting solutions.

In March 2010, the company officially acquired LightHouse Technology Inc., Taiwan's largest LED packaging house for TFT-LCD backlight application. It currently has three plants in Taiwan and will soon set up another one in Suzhou of Jiangsu province, China.

TYCN (stock code: 911622) is a steel producer in Thailand with main products including wire rod, annealing wire, screw and bolt. The company's major business is to purchase billet for manufacturing wire rod and annealing wire products which can be sold directly or act as the semi-finished products for next production process. In other words, the wire rod can be the material to produce annealing wire products and the annealing wire can be the material to produce tapping screw and bolt products.

Moreover, TYCN has established vertical production lines covering middle to downstream products. It is one of the world's few manufacturers with vertical production lines.
