Taipei, Sept. 27, 2011 (CENS)--The Taiwan-based Acer Inc., a globally leading PC supplier, has recently unveiled its Aspire S3 Ultrabook PC in associate with Intel at a product presentation held in Beijing, poised to bring the product to the Chinese market at the end of this month.

In fact, Acer has actively dedicated itself to developing Ultrabook PC since Intel came up with the next-generation laptop design concept, showing its robust ties with the partner. Backed by efficient organization, cutting-edge R&D capability and sound supply chain, the Taiwanese company launches its Ultrabook PC earlier than any of its counterparts, hence becoming the world's first vendor of this kind now.

Oliver Ahrens, president of Acer China, noted that the Aspire S3, already retailed in Finland, Hong Kong and other markets, will also hit the Chinese market at the end of September as the foremost.

Coordinating Acer's Aspire S3 promotion plan, the company's contract manufacturers of the device, like Compal Electronics, Inc. and Wistron Corp., as well as related parts suppliers, including Simplo Technology Co., Ltd., Dynapack International Technology Corp., Asia Vital Components Co., Ltd., have also geared up to kick off mass production starting in the fourth quarter of the year.

Sensitive to market trends and new technology development, Ahrens indicated that his company is confident of winning an advantageous position in the emerging segment in China, although major competitors, such as Lenovo, are also ready to launch their Ultrabook models in the second half of this year.

It makes sense that Acer is so eager to bring its Ultrabook PC to the market, as International Data Corp.'s (IDC's) report shows that the Taiwanese company has advanced to the No.2 spot in the ranking of top five PC brands in the market in the second quarter of this year, only next to Lenovo. To maintain the growth momentum, Ahrens confirmed, the company is determined to launch the Aspire S3 in the market this month, which is significant especially at a time when the company has coveted for a more surefire growth drive to step up its comeback in the PC market after several months of sales declines.
