Taipei AMPA 2011 Opens with Record Number of Exhibitors and Booths

Taipei, April 12, 2011 (CENS)--The 27th Taipei Int'l Auto Parts & Accessories Show (2011 Taipei AMPA) and the 6th Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show (2011 AutoTronics Taipei) opened today for a four-day run at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Hall, according to show organizer Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).

A total of 1,100 companies from eleven countries are participating in the fairs with about 2,800 booths installed. The number of exhibitors grew by 5% from the previous edition. The exhibitions will also feature Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, South Korea and China Pavilions, making the 2011 fairs the most internationalized in the shows' history, the organizer said.

The 2011 Taipei AMPA and 2011 AutoTronics exhibitions focus on three sectors, namely Applications of Automotive LEDs, Automotive Safety and Security, and New Energy for Automobiles, showing Taiwanese manufacturers' innovation strength to global buyers. Almost all major auto-parts and -accessory makers will take part in the big event, including TYC Brothers, Depo, Gordon, Just, Mobiletron and many more.

TAITRA said that the massive March earthquake in Japan is expected to drive global auto-parts buyers to turn to Taiwan suppliers, who are expected to help new buyers separate their purchase risks.

In addition, the 2011 Taipei AMPA and Autotronics Taipei are held earlier and in perfect connection with the coming Auto Shanghai auto and parts show, from April 19-28 (April 19, 20 are media days). Such schedule is expected to attract more international buyers to Asia, TAITRA said.

From April 14 to 17, the first Taiwan Int'l Electric Vehicle Show (2011 EV Taiwan) and the 6th Taiwan International Motorcycle Industry Show (2011 Motorcycle Taiwan) will be held at the TWTC Exhibition Hall 1, with exhibits comprising plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), battery electric vehicles (BEVs), electric scooters, gasoline-engine motorcycles and scooters, parts and accessories etc.
