Sourcing Taiwan 2011 to Create Purchase Orders Worth Over US$25 Bn.

Taipei, March 28, 2011 (CENS)--Sourcing Taiwan 2011, an event organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), is scheduled to be held March 30-31 at Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1, likely to bring over US$25 billion worth of procurement orders to Taiwanese companies later, according to TAITRA.

To make Sourcing Taiwan a successful business-matchmaking occasion, TAITRA has invited over 470 foreign enterprises, including 146 large-sized ones with annual revenues exceeding US$1 billion, from 48 different countries of the world to the event; and most of them will have one-on-one meetings with Taiwanese suppliers on March 31. Enterprises from emerging countries, the organizer mentioned, will make up a majority of the number.

The organizer's invitation list also includes 106 Chinese companies, such as RT-Mart Ltd. Shanghai, B & Q Shanghai, Potevio Group, Beijing Hualian Group, Tesco China, etc. TAITRA stressed that the huge number of Chinese buyers is one of the event's features, which will help Taiwanese suppliers to strengthen business ties with Chinese customers to capture firmly benefits brought by ECFA (Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement), the first free trade pact Taiwan has inked with mainland China in 2010.

Product categories demanded by these buyers cover PCs and related peripherals, communication products, photovoltaic products, LEDs (light emitting diodes), building hardware, consumer commodities, machinery and auto parts and accessories, noted TAITRA, adding that one-on-one business meetings will be arranged according to procurement requirements of buyers.

More than 2,000 Taiwanese companies from different industries will take part in the event, including such heavyweights as AU Optronics Corp. (display panels), Teco Electric & Machinery Co., Ltd. (motors, electric appliances), Shihlin Electric & Engineering Corp. (electrical components for automotives and motorcycles), Tatung Co., (household electronics), Kuang Ta Hsiang Foodstuffs Co., Ltd. (canned food, gift sets), Hey Song Corp. (beverage), I-Mei Foods Co. (food), etc.
