Taiwan's Photonics Fair Estimated To Create Multibillion Business Opportunities

Taipei, June 8, 2010 (CENS)-Industry executives estimate the three-day Photonics Festival Taiwan 2010 , to be held from June 9 through 11, will likely create tens of billions of NT dollar of business opportunities for Taiwan's manufacturers from LED(light emitting diode), flat-panel display, solar-energy and optics industries.

According to co-organizer Photonics Industry & Technology Development Association (PIDA), an estimated 40,000 buyers will check out latest technologies and products displayed by over 600 manufacturers manning approximately 1,500 boxes.

This year, heavyweight international buyers include Sony, Hitachi, Phillips, Hyundai, Cree and Osram. Significant buyers from mainland China include Hisense, Konka, and Panda Electronics.

This year, the fair features three-dimension, green-energy, electronic-paper and LED-lit TV technologies.

Executives of heavyweight exhibitors including AU Optronics, Chunghwa Picture Tube, Epistar, Lite-On and Prime View have said they are feeling bright about market of the second half.
