Yulon in Taiwan to Launch 2 Own-brand Luxgen and tobe Models

Taipei, May 24, 2010 (CENS)--Promising sales in the past few months is motivating the Yulon Group to launch more models under its own-brands Luxgen and tobe.

Yulon recently launched its second Luxgen model, the Luxgen SUV and plans to launch its second tobe model-a 1,500cc mini crossover.

The group said it has won orders for more than 4,000 Luxgen7 MPVs, debuted in the third quarter of 2009, and more than 1,800 Luxgen SUVs even before demonstrations. Yulon will begin delivery of the Luxgen SUV in June and export such model in the late third quarter or early fourth quarter to the Middle East, Latin America and Vietnam.

More than 1,400 tobe M mini hatchbacks have been sold, says Yulon, with the model developed by the Chinese automaker Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd. and locally assembled by Yulon Motor Co. since its demonstration in late 2009, with most having been sold to fathers or husbands wanting a second family car for wife or daughter. Yulon delivered only about 400 tobe Ms in Taiwan due to limited capacity at its Sanyi plant in central Taiwan.

A senior Yulon executive said Yulon is negotiating with Geely over introducing more models and engines for local assembly in Taiwan, adding that, to meet local consumers' taste, Yulon is redesigning parts of the tobe Cross or the Geely GX-2 crossover.
