WMF2010 & FAM2010 Continuing to Build Business for Woodworking and Furniture Industries in 2010

2009/12/07 | By CENS

Likely the biggest incentive to participate in any trade show in China is the fact that the Chinese economy has continued to simmer at encouraging pace amid the global downturn, sufficient enough to attract international carmakers, IT product makers, F&B suppliers, luxury goods houses and real estate developers to set up operations over the years. And the same reasons apply to the biennial and The 13th International Exhibition on Woodworking Machinery and Furniture Manufacturing Equipment (WMF2010) and The 13th International Exhibition on Furniture Accessories, Materials and Wood Products (FAM2010), scheduled for March 10 to 13, 2010 at the China International Exhibition Centre (CIEC) in Beijing, China.

As is the slowly rejuvenating global stock markets and perhaps also fueled by bubbling consumer confidence in China driven by the various official subsidies offered to drum up domestic buying of consumer electronics as well as cars, the furniture and woodworking industries in China are also recovering: Sales of furniture in China in the first half of 2009 reached RMB 152.9 billion (about US$22.383 billion), with a 10.6% year-on-year growth. Furniture exports in the first half of 2009 remained high at US$14.1 billion despite a drop of 9.45%. Overall, the declines in China's wood products import and export trades were less than global levels, with the trading value in China's wood products reaching US$26 billion in the first half of 2009. The second-quarter data showed even more impressive increase at 15.05% relative to the first quarter. Such promising figures have boosted confidence in prospective exhibitors, resulting in overwhelming response to the WMF2010 & FAM2010 so far, as well as attracting plenty of interested visitors.

Following the success in 2006 and 2008, the WMF2010 and FAM2010 continue to be Asia's Largest Fair for Woodworking Machinery, Furniture Accessories and Materials, with the encompassing scope of the event as a key feature with the potential to build business for everyone along the supply and demand chain linked to making wooden products, furniture, parts and more. The new version incorporates the original WFM logo to convey a new graphic message, one that tells global visitors and buyers that the WMF2010 and FAM2010 truly embodies "Machinery + Materials + Accessories," offering an all-in-one platform that makes life easier for serious businesspeople.

Since their inception in 1986, WMF & FAM have gained wide support from those engaged in furniture and related industries, confirmed by encouraging attendance figures. To be in its 13th staging and recognized as the most established trade event focused on woodworking, woodworking machinery and furniture parts in China. Living up to its reputation, WMF & FAM will be showing the latest woodworking machinery, accessories and tools to professional buyers. The machinery exhibits will include mainly the categories of Wood Processing Machinery, Furniture Manufacturing Machinery, Panel Board Manufacturing Machinery, Knife and Blade, Machinery Accessories, Hand Tools, Grinder, Measuring Equipment, Materials Handling Equipment, etc.; while the exhibits on materials will include Logs, Panel Board, Hardware, Semi-finished Wood Products, Chemicals, Decoration Materials and more. More than a show of local influence and definitely showing its global clout and importance, WMF & FAM have been exclusively supported by the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (EUMABOIS) for three consecutive years (2008, 2010, and 2012).

Realizing that attracting foot traffic can also enhance a trade show's popularity, the organizer is engaged in extensive promotional campaigns, working with local and overseas trade media, as well as observers and analysts of furniture-related markets. Several buyer delegations and trade associations from the Hebei Province and more have been invited. Adsale confidently predicts over 30,000 visitors from all over China and the world will be coming to the show.
