Kadeya is aggressively promoting its newly developed electronic height-adjustable desk and “one-touch” room partitions.

Kadeya Enterprise Co., Ltd., established in 1994, is an innovative manufacturer of a range of metal furniture, including towel racks, storage racks, display stands, TV and entertainment stands, and furnishings for dining and living rooms. After years of effort, the company has built a solid reputation globally by offering quality products.

Recently Kadeya has outdone itself by developing the electronically height-adjustable desk, which has built-in memory chip enabling users to preset three preferred heights that can be incrementally adjusted at the touch of one button. Plus an integrated LCD screen shows the desk height, while a safety switch prevents accidental adjustment.

The maker also offers electro-mechanical desks with foldable desktops that can be adjusted for angle to suit any user. Another user-friendly item is an electro-mechanical conference table that is height adjustable, making easy work of meetings as well as stand-up presentations.

Universal Application

The electronic control can be installed in different kinds of desks, such as computer desk, conference table, drafting table etc., to enhance the functionality of office and worktables by allowing easy height adjustment.

“We have spent about three to four years on R&D to develop the electronic control and also a lot of money in mold development,” indicates Lai Chun-yi, president of Kadeya. “The mechanism is already patented in Japan, Germany, China and Taiwan and desks installed with such control will be available in Taiwan by the end of this year. In addition, we plan to build global channels of distribution to market such desks, as well as try to find agents around the world.”

“We plan to attend international exhibitions in Japan and Europe to promote the desks,” Lai says. “I believe the desks will attract ample attention for its height-adjustable convenience and uniqueness.”

One-touch Partition

Other than the height-adjustable desks, the company unveiled last year the “one-touch” room divider and office partition, which are ingenious for being able to be assembled without tools and fasteners. Such design enables users to easily attach the panels linearly, in T-configurations, at 90-degree intersections, and as L-shaped corners, conveniently allowing interior spaces to be regrouped, divided as necessary. The panels and partitions are available in different sizes and colors, so space partitioning in any setting and for any application may be met. “Our ‘one-touch’ panels and partitions are patented in Japan, China and Taiwan, having gained considerable popularity in Japan soon after their debut,” Lai states proudly.

Unlike many of its counterparts that have moved production across the Taiwan Strait, Kadeya has kept all of its operations in Taiwan. The company has a plant in central Taiwan with a workforce of around 100 persons.

Insisting on offering clients with products of the best quality and at the most competitive prices, the company does not scrimp on R&D, while doing what it can to control manufacturing cost. Kadeya believes high quality plus innovative design are its core competitive advantages in the international arena.

“Our R&D team consists of about eight technicians who brainstorm to develop new products. Usually the team designs around 40 to 50 new patterns or models each quarter, and those that show marketability after trial sale are mass produced,” Lai discloses.

Kadeya exports all of its products, 70%-80% of which are shipped to Japan, and the remaining to Europe and the United States. The company has ambitions to explore more overseas markets and distribute some high-end products in Taiwan in the future. (JL)
