Liu Zi Cheng Co. Debuts Chair to De-stress Prolonged Office Work

2008/10/08 | By Judy Li | LIU ZI CHENG CO., LTD.

Tai Chun-chang set up the Liu Zi Cheng Co. last year to produce a new product that he had recently developed. "With the help of a few friends," Tai recalls, "I developed this exercise chair a couple of years ago and decided to set up Liu Zi Cheng to make it. This chair, which we call the 'LZC' OA exercise chair, has a smart mechanism that has been ergonomically designed and is easy to operate.

"The seat of the chair can either be fixed or adjustable to a function that rocks according to the weight of the user. The back of the seat moves flexibly as the user moves, and can even be flattened to allow the user to lie horizontally. The back has a massage function, too. Just take off the seat back and the soft frame provides an ergonomic back massage for the user."

In addition, Tai continues, "Our chairs can help office workers exercise while they are working, which is especially important since many people have to work long hours and have little time to exercise." Just detach the feet, and a conventional chair becomes a short-legged Japanese chair.

Seatback and seat cushion covers can be changed depending on customers' needs and changes in the weather; material made of wool, leather, and velvet are good for the cold winter months, while silk, linen, and fabrics are better for the hot weather.

Liu's chair, he reports, has been patented in Taiwan, China, Japan, South Korea, and Germany. A patent is pending in the U.S. The company wants to make 3,000 of the chairs monthly in the beginning, and then expand production if the market warrants.
