Taipei, March 10, 2008 (CENS)--The third Taiwan International Motorcycle Industry Show (Motorcycle Taiwan 2008), which will be held from April 9 to 12 at Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) Exhibition Hall 1, is reportedly already showing 27% growth over last year's event, according to organizer Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).

Due to incredible responses from participants in Taiwan and from overseas, including Thais, Americans, East Indians, mainland Chinese, etc., TAITRA said, 182 international exhibitors had already booked 470 booths for the show, while further growth is anticipated before the opening.

Major product categories featured at the motorcycle show will include complete vehicles (motorcycles, scooters, all-terrain vehicles, electric scooters, and electric bicycles), engines and parts, vehicle frames, accessories, riding accessories, vehicle testing and inspection equipment, and noise and emissions testing equipment. The Motorcycle Taiwan 2008 will be held simultaneously with two other major motor vehicle shows: the Taipei International Auto Parts & Accessories Show (Taipei AMPA 2008) and Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show (AutoTronics Taipei 2008).

Motorcycle Taiwan 2008 revolves around the single, currently-popular theme "New Era with a Green Earth," TAITRA said, for which the show would have a special display zone, the fuel-injection (FI) 5th-stage Emission Standard Pavilion to showcase related development of environment-friendly products by local makers. The 5th-stage emission in Taiwan will be the world's most stringent and demanding such regulations in the world and effective on the first day of 2009 after a buffering period of about one year.

Yamaha Motor Taiwan Co., the local subsidiary of Yamaha Japan, is scheduled to display the company's full-series FI scooter models complied with the new emission standard. Yamaha Taiwan began pushing 5th-stage-complied products in 2007, taking the leading role in such environment-protection movement among counterparts on the island.

In addition, TAITRA added, visitors would witness the dream models at a very close distance displayed by BMW Motorrad of German, which is asking its Taiwan agent, Pan German Motors, to handle its exhibit. Models to be showcased include the F650 GS, HP2 Sport, K 1200 S, R 1200 GS, R 1200 GS Adventure, and R1200 RT, all currently hot "monster machines" in the global market.

The new BMW HP2 Sport, claims the local agent, puts the sportiest, most powerful, and lightest Boxer engine series of all time on the road. The new R 1200 GS Adventure is the third version of BMW's ultimate long-distance motorcycle, which, according to the agent, is a reworked basic model that was already characterized by a unique mixture of sporty handling and suitability for touring and off-road riding with a 100-hp engine, 85 lb/ft of torque, and Telelever front suspension that keeps road rides smooth.
