Locks, keys, door hinges, door latches

Established in 1980, Lock & Key Mfg. Co., Ltd. has been engaged in the manufacture of locks, keys, door hinges, door latches, and related hardware accessories.

With more than two decades of efforts, the company has successfully marketed its products both at home and abroad. Some 90% of its products use copper as major material, and the remaining 10% zinc.

To reduce manufacturing cost, Lock & Key moved most of its production lines to mainland China in 1997 and set up a plant in Ningbo of Zhejiang Province, with a workforce of over 250 persons. The company turns out its products mainly on OEM basis and exports 80% of its output to Europe and the remaining 20% to the United States and Southeast Asia. Its monthly exports come to US$600,000.

Today the company still operates a plant in Taiwan to turn out products for domestic sales, and a small portion is marketed under its own brand "Lokey".

To further explore marketing channels, Lock & Key has in recent years actively attended leading international hardware shows around the world. (JL)
