Hsien Li Co., Ltd.

High-end OA chair parts

2008/02/22 | By Judy Li | HSIEN LI CO., LTD.

Founded in 1998, Hsien Li Co., Ltd. is a specialized maker of office automation (OA) chair parts designed for both domestic and foreign clients.

Initially, the company fabricated parts mainly for home appliances and also generated stationery items and plastic containers. With worsening manufacturing environment in Taiwan for the said items, the company has turned its focus to, in recent years, developing OA furniture parts.

"With expertise in plastic projection, we have expanded our production lines to OA chair parts and have since developed a wider product line, including arm rests, lumbar supports, chair bases, etc.," says Hung Ching-chang, general manager of the company. "Noteworthy is that our arm rests have passed SGS tests, a renowned world standard."

Huang believes that "quality" is the key to the success of a product, so Hsien Li stays loyal to such motto. The company's OA chair parts feature innovation, durability, and flexibility. Today most of its products have been patented either at home or abroad or both.

"We ship products not only to domestic clients, but also to those in Europe, the United States, and South Africa," Hung indicates. "We had been generally producing OA furniture parts for foreign clients on an OEM basis and have not begun to develop self-designed ones until recently."

Hung is the soul of the company's R & D team, which is in charge of the development of new products. "I have been often totally involved in the development of new items and participated in almost every step of the processes of the products before they are officially marketed," Hong states.

Currently Hsien Li is upgrading manufacturing facilities and planning to develop whole sets of OA chairs other than parts. "We are now working hard to develop some OA chairs and hope to unveil them sometime in the second half of this year," Hung discloses.

Unlike most of its counterparts, Hsien Li keeps all of its production lines in Taiwan. "If I move production lines to China or Vietnam, I may be able to lower manufacturing cost; however, I feel strongly about my social responsibilities. So I have insisted to keep all operations in Taiwan because I feel obliged to care for my employees here," Hung says.

Hsin Li develops molds for most of its products and welcomes special orders.
