With a history of more than three decades, Happy Factor Co., Ltd. has been a specialized manufacturer of chairs in both Taiwan and China, turning out mainly folding chairs, stacking chairs, stools, and dining tables and chairs.

In the early days, the company turned out traditional chairs in simple styles, and only recently has the company begun to develop design-oriented ergonomic chairs to meet the growing trend globally for more user-friendly, health-enhancing products. Furthermore, the company has not strayed from its traditional manufacturing philosophy: making sure its products are made to feature comfort, practicality, durability, and safety.

"Practicality, durability, safety, and comfort have always been essential qualities of chairs," says Lin Tseng-sen, general manager of the company. "In recent years we have been developing ergonomic chairs with various designs to satisfy different tastes of various segments, particularly those in the high-end consumer market."

Today Happy Factor has two factories--one in Taiwan and the other in China. The Taiwan plant is located in Shenkang of Taichung county, central Taiwan, with a workforce of some 30 persons, while the China plant in Zhangzhou of Fujian Province with more than 200 employees. "Our plant in Taiwan produces mainly high-end products in small volume that are shipped in equal volumes to markets both at home and abroad, and the one in China turns out products in large volume that are fully exported," Lin states.

Like most of its Taiwanese counterparts, Happy Factor focuses on the United States and Europe as major export outlets and its products have proven to be very popular among clients in the said two markets.
