COMPANY PROFILE
PMI , stands for the Precision Motion Industries, Inc., is located in Taichung area of Taiwan. Taichung area is actually the central area of Taiwan. As many people know that the Taichung area is the area of Machine Tool manufacturing.
PMI was established in 1990 with very small capital. It was not easy to run a ballscrew manufacturing business with that small amount of capital. There was not any thread grinding machine for screw shaft of PMI. The threads of screw shafts were polished by lapping, not grinding. Those ballscrews were applied to conventional milling machines for stable and accurate positioning with digital scales. Even though the threads are polished only, those ballscrews were made with smooth running and durable. PMI had made good business during the period of first four years.
In 1995, PMI decided to make high precision ground ballscrews and then bought one Japanese Mitsui Seiki external thread grinder. The company's business started to grow rapidly after this machine was received in 1996. PMI has bought more high precision thread grinders since then. Until 2003, PMI shared most of the local ballscrew market of Machine Tool manufacturing in Taiwan. PMI has also become a reputable ballscrew manufacturer in the world.
In July of 2002, PMI established its subdivision company, the AMT, and started to manufacture the linear guideways. The products now have been in the market in the applications of semi-conductor related machines, factory automation and machine tools.
PMI is currently also working on the development of Nano-plans. It is a kind of product with very high accuracy and technology. PMI owns a group of high level R&D people to work for it. The Nano-plans shall be in our product line in the year of 2006, it shall undoubtedly play a very important role during the successful growth of PMI in near future.
PMI shall keep working on the research and development of linear motion systems. It is sure that PMI shall be more successful.
