Opening Fastener Taiwan 2024 with a flourish, the Global Fastener Forum invites attendees to delve into dynamic discussions on worldwide development trends and challenges. Covering topics from industry greening and sustainability to the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), high-value products, and the integration of AI in manufacturing processes, this forum leaves no stone unturned. Experts will also explore digitalization and other critical issues, shaping the future through shared insights.

The first speaker is Chorng-Tyan Lin, Director of the Micro/MESO Mechanical Manufacturing(M4) of the Metal Industry Research and Development Center (MIRDC), Lin explained that digital transformation occurs on three levels: first, "digital electronic," followed by "digital optimization," and finally "digital transformation." He noted that different industries have unique transformation models, and even within the same industry, transformation approaches can vary.

Lin also emphasized two key factors in promoting digital transformation: the importance and consensus of management on the transformation, which involves determining the direction and objectives to ensure a smooth launch; and the staff's recognition of the value of the transformation, which requires employees to learn new skills. For a successful overall implementation, employees must first appreciate the benefits of digital transformation.
