Measurement equipment maker names two trends to follow in post-pandemic era

2022/10/20 | By EDN

Keysight, a major measurement equipment manufacturer, named four major technological trends that must be focused on in the future on Thursday, which included 5G/6G, autonomous driving, quantum and high-performance computing, and implementing digital twins. However, Keysight believes that the electric vehicle ecosystem must adopt common standards and that implementing digital twins will change the world.

Keysight Technologies held its annual electronic measurement forum today, showcasing more than 20 solutions and applications and announcing four major development trends, including 5G/6G, autonomous driving technology, quantum and high-performance computing, and digital twin technology.

Luo Da-chun, deputy general manager of Keysight Technology Taiwan Marketing Office, pointed out that the 5G private network continues to be optimized. In response to industrial and medical applications, 6G will be the focus of development in the future.

In quantum technology, Luo Dajun said that more and more companies realize that quantum is a technology that has gained prominence, and future business opportunities are unlimited. Mainland China is actively establishing a presence in the industry, while Taiwan has formed a nationwide team of manufacturers in the field to deploy quantum technology applications.

In electric vehicles and autonomous driving, Luo pointed out that promoting battery life, large-scale charging, and the construction of primary charging piles and battery technology are still challenges for applying electric vehicles. Keysight believes that it is necessary to promote the adoption of common standards for the entire ecosystem of electric vehicles and also to address technological innovation in batteries, including silicon anodes or solid-state batteries.

Regarding digital twin technology, Keysight expects it will be a transformative technology that changes the world. It can create a simulation body in the virtual world, and the development is entirely consistent with the state of objects in the real world. In recent years, it has been widely used in industries such as industrial sectors, aviation, automobiles, and medical care can adjust the degree of impact of the ecosystem according to actual needs by modeling the variable factors in the plan.
