Taipei, Sept. 5, 21012 (CENS)--Mainly fueled by shipment of LED light bars for use in 50-inch-and-above LCD TVs as the source of backlights, Lextar Electronics Corp., an LED product maker in Taiwan, scored sales revenue of NT$965 million in August, up 4.55% from a month ago or 10.03% a year earlier to hit a 24-month high, according to the company's latest financial report.

Compared to most of its peers suffering sluggish market demands, Lextar, however, has seen its single-month revenue steadily trend up since early this year. Market observers owe the company's prosperity amid industrial depression mainly to its LED backlight products, which presently contribute 60-70% to the manufacturer's revenue.

To secure sustainable development in the marketplace, Lextar has been devoted to production of direct-type LED backlights for use in 50-inch and above LCD TVs since the third quarter of this year to shrewdly fend off underselling,

In the meantime, the observers said that LED lightings also help to sustain Lextar's business growth. While most counterparts rush to produce LED bulbs to cause fierce competition, the company turns to making T8 LED tubes to differ from them. This differentiation strategy has paid off, as the company is one of only a few Taiwanese LED makers scoring profit growths in the first half of this year.

Lextar confirmed that its newest LED tubes have been constantly delivered to U.S. customers on an OEM (original equipment manufacturing) basis, with some LED down light products ready to be exported to North America, which will contribute to its revenue starting in the third quarter of this year.

With customers heavily restocking inventories for the upcoming holiday seasons in different regional markets of the world, institutional investors predict that Lextar's sales revenue is expected to keep surging month by month to total NT$2.64 billion for the third quarter, the company's single-quarter high.
