Taipei, July 26, 2006 (CENS)--Gaining an operating license early this year, APL Logistics Co., an arm of the Singapore-based Neptune Orient Lines Group (NOL), has recently inaugurated a warehouse at a pier of the Kaohsiung Free Trade Port, southern Taiwan.

APL Logistics and the prestigious American President Lines, one of the world's top-10 container transportation companies, are sister companies under the NOL umbrella that focuses on container transportation and supply-chain management. NOL is an integrated provider of transport solutions.

APL Logistics currently provides international end-to-end logistics services for global customers employing the latest information-technology and data connectivity for maximum supply-chain visibility and control.

APL Logistics said its clients include many well-renowned manufacturers of automobiles and high-tech products located in southern Taiwan. Brian Lutt, president and CEO of APL Logistics, said the Kaohsiung Free Trade Port plays an important element in its efforts to establish global logistics infrastructure.

With the license to operate in Kaohsiung Free Trade Port, APL Logistics noted it would be able to provide supply-chain services more flexibly and efficiently than ever before.

The company said over the past several months it has handled some logistics cases by taking advantage of the facilities at the No.68 and No.69 piers of the Kaohsiung Free Trade Port.

C.L. Huang, managing director of APL Logistics Taiwan, said his company has helped many clients ratchet up supply-chain management by making use of the facilities of the Kaohsiung Free Trade Port.
