Runmaster Gives Lathe Rivals A Run for the Money

Founded in 1989, Runmaster Machinery Corporation is a major shareholder of Wey Yii Machinery Corp., one of Taiwan's oldest manufacturers of lathes.

Most of the company's computerized numerically controlled (CNC) lathes are all self-designed and sold under the "Runmaster" brand, though original equipment/design manufacturing (OEM/ODM) orders are also welcomed.

Runmaster specializes in high-precision and high-efficiency lathes--a niche in which it has established a good reputation at home and abroad. The company continually works to develop new high-added-value machines to maintain its leadership position in this segment.

In 1991, Runmaster established a mainland China subsidiary named Tai Yi Machinery (Nantong) Co., Ltd. To expand production. The mainland subsidiary follows the same strict quality-control system and production management that are used by its parent company in Taiwan.

At present, Runmaster's core product lines include variable-speed bench lathes, high-speed precision lathes, precision engine lathes, and heavy-duty precision lathes. The company supplies six series of lathes in more than 20 different specifications.

The company's heavy-duty precision lathes feature swing over bed distances ranging from 260mm to 660mm; distances between centers ranging from 500mm to 3,000mm; and spindle bore diameters from 26mm to 105mm.

Runmaster says its CNC lathes are warmly welcomed at home and abroad because of their reliable quality and competitive prices. Prompt delivery is another selling point.

"Pursuing top-grade quality is our first priority in developing and producing lathes," says Joyce Chen, general manager of the company. "Although we have won a good reputation at home and abroad, we will continue to develop advanced technologies to hone our edge in high-end machines."
