Everox Turns Heads With Low Price, High Performance Lathes

Everox Industrial Co., Ltd., founded in March 2000 in Taichung County, central Taiwan, specializes in the manufacture of bed-type milling machines, heavy-duty bed-type CNC milling machines, powerful flatbed CNC lathes, heavy-duty precision lathes, and vertical machining centers.

"Although we are a newcomer in this business, all of our staff members have over 20 years of experience in machinery development and production," says Yeh Kung-chih, president of the company.

CNC models account for about 60% of the company's total output and conventional models for the remainder.

Though not one of the larger players in the sector, Everox has the expansion capacity of its bigger rivals thanks to its extensive satellite-supplier network. Still, the company admits that it is feeling growing pains as export orders grow. Yeh says his company is planning to open a new plant in the near future to accommodate demand.

The company exports 80% of its output under its "Everox" brand. Most of its flatbed lathes go to Europe, Southeast Asia and the U.S., while its bed-type milling machines are generally destined for Brazil, Germany and Southeast Asia.

Yeh attributes the strong demand for his company's machines to their combination of reasonable pricing and high performance. "Our CNC milling machines are nearly as accurate as the more expensive machining centers made by our competitors in industrialized countries," he says.

Everox is currently developing machining-center models with 1,150mm, 1,300mm and 1,500mm X-axis travel capacities, respectively.

The company can equip its automated milling machines and lathes with any kind of industrial CNC controller. The company also provides PC-controller models.

Everox's CNC milling machines are powered by servomotors, making them suitable for either heavy-cutting work or mold-making. For simple machining, the machines can be manually operated.

The company will display its products at two international machinery fairs in the first half of this year, including the Taipei International Machine Tools Show (TIMTOS) from March 15 to 20 and Thailand's Specialized Machine Tools and Metal Cutting Exhibition from May 11 to 15.
