Furniture and Design in Kipsala, September 30––October 3
From September 30 to October 3, Kipsala International Exhibition Centre will present the international exhibition for furniture and interior design Baltic Furniture 2010. The exhibition features quality furniture made in the Baltic States, luminaries and design in all its forms.
Furniture
The exhibition will present well-known enterprises rich in furniture making traditions, as well as small and recently established enterprises offering quality home and office furniture, accessories, interior objects, furniture components and finishing materials.
Luminaries
A display of luminaries will be a special feature of Baltic Furniture 2010. Light is a very special component of practical and aesthetic significance in every interior. It creates atmosphere for work, creative activities, recreation, subdued conversations and mad parties. Luminaries––lamps, chandeliers, floor lamps, office reading lamps, originally designed lighting solutions––now also at Baltic Furniture 2010!
Design
Furniture is more than just a comfortable table or chair at our office, a sofa in the sitting room or a bed we sleep in the night. A number of artists, designers, masters and manufacturers are engaged in making quality, modern and original products for end-customers. Therefore organisers decided to complement the exhibition with Design Park, a dynamic and inspiring environment for furniture designers and manufacturers presenting the accomplishments of the furniture industry for the third consecutive year, the to the furniture exhibition. Along with furniture and interior objects in manufacturing, it will present works of the best Baltic designers and design students renowned at different international competitions.
In the framework of the exhibition, BT 1 and Latvian Designers Union will hold the furniture design competition Baltic Furniture Design Award 2010. The objective of this competition is to highlight the achievements in the field of furniture design of Latvian and Baltic furniture manufacturers, to activate the development of furniture design and the cooperation between furniture manufacturers and designers, to promote the manufacturers of industrial and unique furniture in the home market; and to boost furniture export.
