According to the study of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, aggregate revenue of Taiwan's dining industry reached NT$293.2 billion in 2005, 7% higher than 2004, including NT$259.7 billion for restaurants, up 8.41%, NT$25.5 billion for beverage stores, down 2.62%, and NT$8 billion for other dining establishments, down 3.23%.
Judging from statistics, after experiencing the storms of the SARS epidemic and the 911 terrorist attack, domestic tourist industry had gradually picked up, which, plus increase in out-eating population, enabled the domestic dining market to record rapid growth.
