The Economic Roundup is an excerpted translation of the Chinese-language ROC Economic Yearbook published by the Economic Daily News, a sister publication of the Taiwan Economic News. The yearbook is the most comprehensive and authoritative source for understanding the fundamentals of Taiwan's economy, both in the macro and micro aspects. The excerpted translation gives foreign readers a concise view of the island's overall economic picture. It is divided into four parts: general economy, primary industries, secondary industries, and tertiary industries.

 Secondary Industries > Aerospace Industry
Taiwan's aerospace industry, following years of efforts, has established a sound aerospace industrial system, including design, research and production of the complete military airplanes, and the production of engines, electronics, electrical and interior aerospace parts and components,

The government is actively cultivating airplane maintenance talents and local makers are also focusing their investment on airplane maintenance, in line with the development trend of Taiwan's aerospace industry. It has approved an aerospace industry development project, which has included aerospace services and aerospace leisure sports as new priority development items, in addition to civil and military aviation industries. The project is designed to enable the local aerospace makers to create high value-added aerospace products and services, and join the global aerospace supply chains, thus making Taiwan become a major aerospace base in the world.
