| Due to significant depletion of inventories in the second half of 2005, the global semiconductor industry managed to post a single-digit sales growth last year. In Taiwan alone, the IC industry still maintained the NT$1 trillion mark in annual production value for 2005, almost unchanged from the 2004 level.
