| Aided by the growing ratio of outsourcing by major international PC brands, Taiwan has started to post a global market share of over 70 percent for motherboards since 2000. In 2005, Taiwan's share of the global motherboard market hit a high of 98%, with leading local makers in the line including Asustek, Hon Hai, Elite Group, Microstar, and Gigabyte. The growing saturation of the global personal computer market has spawn a trend that "the bigger will remain bigger" in the motherboard industry, with Asustek, Hon Hai and Elite emerging as the top three makers in the line. |
