Taipei, June 27, 2005 (CENS)--Several leading auto-parts makers in Taiwan have reportedly won big-ticket orders from foreign customers.

Hota Industrial Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a leading maker of transmission systems and parts in Taiwan, announced that it has won an order for 1.25 million sets of transmission output-axle parts from BorgWarner Inc. of the U.S., a leader in highly engineered components and systems for vehicle power-train applications to engines, automatic transmissions and four-wheel drive. The orders were valued at about NT$1.5 billion (US$47.92 million at US$1: NT$31.3) and Hota will begin delivery in mid-2006 in five years.

Hota vice president and spokesman Charles Chen said that his company also won orders for torque converters from BorgWarner. Hota will start to fill the orders in the fourth quarter this year.
