Jingle World Co., Ltd. Is promoting a tiffany bank lamp equipped with a patented "intelligent" chain switch.

The power switch is attached to a sensor device that enables consumers to turn the lamp on and off by simply gently touching the chain from any side, eliminating the need to pull and release the chain.

The sensor is intelligent enough that it is not activated by vibration caused by wind or other non-human forces. The sensor's detection mechanism is composed of a small copper bearing. The cube-shaped sensor is available in two sizes-either eight millimeters per side or six millimeters per side.

The sensor's circuits are effectively protected by thick electroplating, yielding more than double the durability of competing products. The device functions in environments ranging in temperature from 180o C to -45o C. Surface-mounting technology makes the sensor efficient, and a highly automated production process assures consistent quality.

The sensor is now protected by patents in 120 countries, including the U.S., mainland China, the U.K., France, Holland, Vietnam and Taiwan itself. Jingle World claims the switch is unique-there are no other products of its kind anywhere in the world. The company's R&D team of eight specialists spent five years developing the device. In addition to tiffany bank lamps, Jingle World is now installing the sensor and touch chain in desk lamps.

With an eye toward developing intelligent devices with even more advanced capabilities, Jingle World inked an agreement in September 2001 with the National Chung Cheng University in southern Taiwan to do research and development at the school's high-tech incubator facilities.

The company's lamps have won certifications from the FCC and CE. Now, Jingle World puts out 100,000 lamps a month, with the European Union currently its primary export destination. Jingle World makes all of its products in its own factory in Taiwan, which is certified to meet the ISO 9001 and ISO 9002 standards.

Buyers can see the company's lamps at Booth J19 in Hall 2 at the upcoming Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2005, which will be held Oct. 26 through 29.
