Laser Rainbow Technology Co., Ltd. Is a specialist at integrating the latest optoelectronic and laser- engraving technologies in auto accessories. With strong development capability, the company has developed a series of auto gearshift knobs, steering-wheel spinner knobs, and other in-car decoration/illumination items, bringing a high-tech, artistic ambience to car interiors.

The firm recently demonstrated a new shift-knob series, the Magic Knob, for manually operated vehicles. All models feature several innovations, including three-dimensional (3D) engravings (non-surface destructive) inside a transparent acrylic body. According to Laser Rainbow, the surface of the acrylic knob is given a high polish to give it the feel of real crystal, bringing a heightened sense of luxury to the normally mundane task of gear-shifting. The patterns inside the knobs can be custom-designed, engraved using Laser Rainbow's high-end in-house equipment.

Laser Rainbow supplies the light-emitting diode (LED) modules in its Magic Knobs in four versions: wire control (including in-car cigarette-lighter plug and on-wire switch), wireless control, sound control, and seven-color sensitivity.

The voice-control LED module has two LEDs. When the optoelectronic knob is switched on, the blue LED will constantly emit blue rays while a red one flashes in sync with the sounds emitted inside the car (music, human voices, etc.), giving a bright and colorful visual performance.

The seven-color LED module features an automatic color-change function, enabled by a sophisticated integrated circuit (IC) chip inside that runs a single LED through seven color variations: red, blue, green, red/green, blue/green, red/blue, and red/blue/green.

Established in 1996, Laser Rainbow operates a 15-worker plant in northern Taiwan's Taipei County. The company produces over 30,000 sets of the optoelectronic/laser-engraved shift knobs per month. Demand is even greater, however, and the firm plans to expand capacity as quickly as possible. Demand is expected to grow even more when several new items now in the works are unveiled in the near future.
