Established in 1992, Lucky-Pisces Co., Ltd. Is a specialized maker of auto-use air compressors, vacuum cleaners, and waxing machines. It also offers a range of in-car air-freshener products.

Lucky-Pisces currently supplies six air-compressor models, including two models featuring extra-powerful air-flow volume specially designed for the inflation of oversize tires such as those used on 4x4 vehicles. In addition, a company spokesman states, its air compressors can be used for significantly longer periods--about 20 minutes of continuous operation--than the 10~15 minutes for standard competing models.

The firm says that all of its products are made of the only the best materials and parts/components, resulting in products of superior quality that are priced about 20% and about 10% lower, respectively, than Taiwan- and mainland China-made counterparts.

Among the several auto-use vacuum-cleaner models that it supplies, the company says that its newly developed TB-899A rechargeable cleaner features attractive advantages. These include use of four 1.2V Ni-Cd batteries (with longer life than general-use 3.6V batteries), a housing made of high-strength ABS plastic, and dual-purpose wet/dry suction capability. The firm's TB-899, which has a similar appearance to the TB-899A, is a 12DC model fitted with a compartment for storage of the electrical wire.

In 1999 the company set up a factory (currently with about 50 workers) in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, mainland China to cut production costs, but maintains headquarters operations and R&D (a team of ten) in Taiwan. The company develops three to five new product models per year. All of its output is exported to major customers in the U.S., Europe, and Southeast Asia.

To further improve its product quality and manufacturing efficiency, Lucky-Pisces is introducing quality and manufacturing processes compatible with the requirements of the 2000-version ISO9001 standard.
