Jashico Machine Manufacture Co., Ltd., established in 1982, specializes in the production of computerized numerically controlled (CNC) and high-speed lathes. One of Taiwan's most experienced and reputable manufacturers in the line, Jashico is dedicated to developing high-added-value models satisfying upmarket domestic and overseas demand, especially in the U.S. and Western Europe.

Jashico began operations with the production of high-speed lathes in 1982. Thanks to the high quality of its products, the company entered the European market by distributing CE-mark-certified high-speed lathes. The company began distributing CNC lathe frames to Italy in 1993; two years later it moved into the production of CNC flat-bed lathes.

Three years ago, Jashico was selected by Victor Taichung Machinery Works Co., Taiwan's largest manufacturer of lathes, to produce high-speed and CNC lathes on an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) basis. The company sells its own in-house-designed models under the 'Top-Turn' and 'Lux-Matter' brands to mainland China, Southeast Asia, the U.S., Canada, and some European nations.

With paid-in capital of US$400,000, Jashico is capable of turning out machines at an estimated value of US$3.8 million per year, at current prices, with a work force of 35. Over the past several years, the company has been expanding production capacity to facilitate an influx of big-ticket orders.

To meet its ever-burgeoning order book, at the beginning of 2003 the company moved its manufacturing facilities to a larger plant in Wuji Township from Tali City, both in Taichung County, central Taiwan. The new production facility occupies a land area of 5,200 square meters and a floor space of 3,900 square meters. Production capacity is a total of 80 CNC and high-speed lathes a month.

The firm's lathes will be on display at international machine-tool exhibitions through the rest of this year, including events in mainland China's Dalian and Shenyang, in Liaoning Province, Dongguan in Guangdong Province, and in Shanghai, Vietnam, and Taiwan's Taichung City.
