Taiwan Chuang Dar Industrial Co., Ltd., established in March 1972 in Taichung County, central Taiwan, specializes in the development and production of high-quality solid-wood furniture.

The company is headquartered in Taiwan, and has a production facility measuring 43,200 square feet. Over the past several years the firm has also set up two production facilities in mainland China, one located in Dongguan, Guangdong Province and the other in Beijing.

Since its inception the company has expanded its business lines to include iron-wire products, stationery, and household products. Major series include all kinds of fan guards, heater guards, industrial nets, stainless-steel houseware, compact disk racks and decorations, wooden furniture, knock-down metal-tube furniture, and waste baskets. Items are priced in a range of US$0.45 to US$280 each.

Taiwan Chuang Dar's management states that many of its solid-wood furniture designs are patent-protected in the U.S. The company currently is capable of shipping 200 40-inch containers per year; over 70% of its output is sold to the U.S. and Canada.

Despite steady growth in sales over the past several years, Chuang Dar anticipates it will see flat sales this year because of what management feels are unclear signs of economic recovery and anticipated price hikes for materials.

The company has since its inception focused on the production of high-quality products using advanced production equipment. In recent years a complete new suite of sophisticated automated machinery has been brought in from Europe.
