Taitronics Spring 2004, TaipeiOpto 2004 running at TWTC

Taipei, April 6, 2004 (CENS)--The 2004 Taipei International Opto-electronics Show (TaipeiOpto 2004) and the 2004 Taipei International Electronics Spring Show (Taitronics Spring 2004) will kick off tomorrow for a five-day run at the exhibition hall of the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC).

Both shows will attract a total of 400 exhibitors using 900 booths. Some leading international electronics and information technology (IT) brands will have their own pavilions to show the latest products such as large-sized digital TV models and projectors, including Mitsubishi of Japan and LG of South Korea.

Show organizers Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA) said that this year's shows will be held with the major theme of "creating the 2004 mobile Taiwan." Based on the theme, several specific exhibition areas will be set up, including wireless local area network (WLAN) products and applications; intelligent home appliances and high-efficiency applications; opto-electronic products and applications; digital TVs; and nano-meter applications etc.

According to TAITRA and TEEMA, the major product categories showed at the Taitronics Spring 2004 will include cable TV and equipment; electronic components; computers and peripherals; consumer electronics products; digital cameras; electronics and electrical machinery production equipment; illumination equipment; information applications; instruments; nano-meter applications; security inspection systems; and telecom equipment etc.

At the TaipeiOpto 2004, the two organizers added, the major demonstration categories include display products; opto-electronic parts and components; relevant equipment/instruments; optical storage devices; opto-input/output equipment; optical mechanisms; and peripheral supporting equipment etc.

TAITRA claimed that the two shows would comprise the most comprehensive range of electronic products.
