The new 90cc ATV and delivery scooters.

The Taiwan Golden Bee Co. (TGB) was established in 1978 as a specialized maker of motor scooters, all terrain vehicles (ATVs), and continuous variable transmission (CVT) systems. Today, the company claims that its products are popular in Europe, the United States, and Southeast Asia because of their quality, which is equal to that of Japanese products, and their much more competitive prices.

TGB currently operates two plants in Taiwan, one which turns out motor scooters and ATVs and the other which manufactures CVT systems and related parts. The two plants have a total work force of about 450.

The company is confident of the quality and durability of its vehicle products, and is proud of its strong system-integration capability.

Arthur Tsai, a specialist in the office of the TGB president, explains that the firm's main advantages derive from the superb performance of the engines used in its vehicles, the state-of-the-art designs of its products, and its unexcelled after-sales service system.

This quality and service, which has long been recognized by major customers and Europe and America, is achieved by strong R&D capability, outstanding manufacturing ability, and top-drawer system-integration expertise.

The Taiwanese company turns out scooters and ATVs with engine displacements of 50cc, 90cc, 125cc, and 150cc, and supplies CVT systems that match engines ranging from 50cc to 850cc.

Bigger Engine Coming

A big-displacement engine model, 400cc for ATV and scooter, is scheduled for introduction in the second quarter of 2005.
Thanks to long-term technical ties with a European engine engineering company, TBG has built up the technical background needed to develop all of its own products.

TGB`s popular new F409 scooter.

"As a result of our competence as a maker and exporter of vehicles mainly to the European market, we always play a leading role among local counterparts in new model designs that express the most modern visual appeal without sacrificing aerodynamic efficiency," Tsai claims. "Our scooters and ATVs are parallel in quality and more advanced in design than those made by big Japanese brands such as Yamaha, Suzuki, and Honda, and our prices are much more competitive. That's why our products are so popular in many overseas markets."

The company recently introduced two new vehicles, a 90cc ATV and the F409 50cc scooter. Although the F409 has a small engine, unlike other scooters of the same size it is designed as a cruising model for comfortable long-distance riding. In the future, a larger engine will be offered along with other minor modifications.

The F409 offers numerous other advantages that competing models cannot match, including ergonomic riding position, extended windshield, superbly aerodynamic body, and modern, eye-catching styling. The manufacturer says that the new model immediately elicited a hot response from customers in Europe.

TGB has also developed a series of best-selling delivery scooters with displacements ranging from 50cc to 150cc; these models, too, are claimed to have won plaudits in Europe for their outstanding utility, practicality, and durability. They have a 150-liter cargo container designed to match the scooter body, thus adding convenience in the carrying of goods for short distances and allowing for the placement of company logos and advertisements while not affecting safety and comfort.
