YCS Rolls Out High-Level CVT Systems and Parts

Established in 1996, Yung Cheng Sheng Industrial Co., Ltd. (YCS) is a specialized maker of powered two-wheeler (PTW) continuous variable transmission (CVT) systems and parts, as well as of front-drum brake-hub assemblies. With strong development and manufacturing capabilities, the company has also diversified into the production of performance-tuning PTW shock absorbers in recent years.

YCS has developed all the parts used in its PTW CVT systems in-house save belts, including the clutch sets and drive disks. The company supplies both complete CVT systems and replacement parts.

Management claims that the firm can develop and produce required CVT systems to match customers' engines with displacements from 50cc to 500cc, and produce CVT systems according to customers' design blueprints or product samples.

The firm has developed over 100 CVT system models compatible with popular scooter models made by Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki. In addition, it supplies CVT systems to many PTW and all-terrain vehicle (ATV) exporters in Taiwan on an original equipment (OE) basis.

YCS chairman Chou Mu-chuan attributes his company's success in achieving a comprehensive product list in CVT systems to the high commonality of the key parts used in the various CVT systems, his company's outstanding development capability, and his strong determination in becoming a leading global supplier in a short period with intensive investments.

After gaining a solid foothold in both the aftermarket (AM) replacement and OE PTW parts markets, YCS has been actively tapping the performance-tuning parts market by pushing high-efficiency CVTs and high-level shock absorbers for motorcycles and scooters.

Chou says that YCS' tuning CVT systems have unique mechanism designs that can greatly reduce power-output losses and generate much higher horsepower performance for a same engine.

YCS began developing aluminum-alloy tuning PTW shock absorbers about two years ago. All of the company's tuning shock absorber models are filled with nitrogen gas and adjustable to required dampening/rebound effects for high-speed or racing ridings. The company has won orders for such high-level products from many internationally famous PTW tuning parts brands due to its products' superb quality and functions.

YCS runs a 50-worker integrated plant in southern Taiwan's Tainan County, owns comprehensive high-precision production equipment such as in-house die-casting line and computerized numerically controlled (CNC) machine centers. About 60% of YCS' products are exported to major markets including western Europe, the U.S., Japan and Latin America; while the rest 40% sold to local traders.

YCS is scheduled to set up a new plant in Vietnam this year for production of CVT systems and parts as well as shock absorbers. Products made at the overseas plant, which is expected to have about 300 workers, will be sold domestically and exported throughout the region.
