Bosch Great China to Procure Auto-Parts Fom Taiwan

Taipei, May 15, 2006 (CENS)--Bosch Great China is scheduled to hold face-to-face procurement meeting with 18 qualified auto-parts suppliers in Taiwan, and will soon begin purchasing parts made on the island, according to the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).

In addition to Bosch, TAITRA claimed to have also arranged similar procurement meetings for many big international tier-one parts brands, including Delphi, Continental, and Brunswick, and will set up independent purchasing websites for such big foreign procurers.

TAITRA claimed that its Taiwantrade B2B portal recommended 70 qualified Taiwan auto-parts and -accessory suppliers to Bosch, which finally selected 18 of the companies for face-to-face negotiations. A senior procurement official of Bosch Great China pointed out that his branch selected the 18 companies by establishing by establishing the criterion that each company's annual export value had to outstrip US$8 million.

Representative of Bosch Great China want to find qualified suppliers of forged and die-cast parts, stamped parts, plastic and rubber parts, and automotive electronics items in Taiwan. Bosch procurement officials have arranged related negations and plant-tour inspections during their stay.

Industry sources said that Bosch has been increasing its interactions with TAITRA, including sending procurement representatives of Bosch Hong Kong to hold procurement seminars with local companies at the Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show (AutoTronics Taipei 2006) held last April 17-20. The representatives suggested that local companies contact Bosch's various branches in different regional markets for greater business opportunities, TAITRA said.

TAITRA claimed that it began pushing a series of aggressive promotion projects to introduce Taiwan-made products to global buyers by providing related information and services, as well as setting up website portals.

TAITRA said that big foreign procurers could get the necessary information and contact qualified and targeted suppliers through related promotion mechanisms constructed by the council.
