ICP Electronics’ Revenue Expected to Grow in Q4

2012/08/09 | By Andrew Wang

Taipei, Aug. 9, 2012 (CENS)--ICP Electronics Inc., a Taiwan-based supplier of industrial computers, predicts revenue to grow 10%~20% in the second half over the

first half, with revenue in fourth quarter expected to rise over the third quarter, according to the firm’s chairman B.D. Guo.

Guo pointed out that revenue growth in the first half was hindered by reduced big-ticket orders and short supply of hard-discs, but the growth decline in revenue for the entire year is expected to narrow to 20%~30% due to mounting demand for industrial computers in the second half.

ICP saw revenue in the first seven months decline 41.6% year on year (YoY) to NT$2.109 billion (US$70.3 million). Guo stated the firm will gain growing orders in the second half from G-tech, a gaming and lottery machine supplier, and customers of POS (point of sales) devices in the U.S.A. Generally, Europe remains a driver of the firm’s business growth due to strong demand for lottery machines.

ICP saw revenue in China this year remain the same as last year’s, totaling NT$1 billion (US$33.3 million). With decreasing orders from transport and solar power industries, the company relies on supplying medical equipment and automated teller machines this year.
