Mercuries Asia the First Furniture Maker to be SGS Approved
2012/06/08 | By Judy LiTaipei, June 8, 2012 (CENS)--Mercuries Furniture Co., Ltd., a branded kitchen cabinet maker in Taiwan, has recently been SGS approved to be the first furniture company in Taiwan and Asia to obtain the widely-recognized certificate.
S.C. Tsai, vice president of the company, says that SGS is a Switzerland-based firm engaged in verification, testing and certification with global reputation. So Mercuries now can guarantee product quality and service.
To better serve customers, Mercuries plans to establish a furniture hypermarket in Taiwan within three years to offer sofas, beds, living room sets etc. in addition to system kitchen cabinets and “one-stop” service.
Setting up the hypermarket enables Mercuries to offer services as 3D furniture design, floor layout, interior décor etc. Besides, we will have designers on-site to offer advice on furnishings and interior décor, as well as five-year guarantee on such service, says Tsai.
The company has 13 furniture stores island-wide and plans to set up four more this year, hoping to raise revenues by 25% for the year. Last year the company's revenues came to NT$450 million (US$15 million) and is expected to grow to NT$500 million (US$16.67 million) this year.
