Taiwan's Mfg. Ind. Indicator Flashes Yellow-blue in February

Taipei, April 5, 2012 (CENS)--The indicator of Taiwan's manufacturing industry turned yellow-blue in February from the fourth consecutive month of blue with the score of 11.83 points higher than 10.62 points, also a yellow-blue, recorded in September 2011.

The Taiwan government uses a five-color indicator to gauge manufacturing industries, with blue showing recession, yellow-blue a slowdown, green a stable situation, yellow-red an uptrend and red overheating.

Among the components of the indicator for Feb., market demand, operating environment, manufacturing cost, and application of raw materials all showed monthly uptrend, with sale prices presenting the opposite.

In terms of individual industries, food and textile witnessed the indicator turn from blue to yellow-blue and green, respectively, with those that saw the light go from blue to green include computer, electronics & optical devices, electronic parts, and auto vehicles & related parts.
