Taipei, Aug. 12, 2003 (CENS)--Awea Mecatronic Co. posted pretax profits of NT$114 million in the first half of the year, translating into earnings per share (EPS) of NT$2.42. Its board passed the financial statement yesterday.

A major large-size CNC machining center maker in Taiwan, Awea Mecatronic saw a whopping annual revenue growth of 114.87% in the first half of the year. Its pretax EPS was higher than NT$2 predicted previously by institutional stock investors.

In the first seven months, the firm's revenue also grew 109%, compared with the same period of 2002.

After a recent product line adjustment, the revenue ratio for small CNC machine tools has grown significantly. This helps the firm secure stable revenue growth over the past few months.

Meanwhile, the demand for machine tools in mainland China has been hectic. Deliveries to the Southeast Asian region also grew sharply, executives of Awea Mecatronic said.
