2 listed makers of passive devices finalize 2002 dividends

Taipei, June 30, 2003 (CENS)--Teapo Electric Corp. and Prosperity Dielectrics Co., Ltd., two local manufacturers of electric passive devices, will distribute a dividend per share of NT$0.6 and NT$1.0, respectively, for their 2002 operations.

Listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, Teapo Electric produces aluminum electrolytic capacitors and other kinds of capacitors. The company's shareholders approved the distribution of a dividend per share of NT$0.6 in cash at this year's meeting held on June 27.

Teapo Electric recorded revenue of NT$1.242 billion, pretax profit of NT$152 million, and earnings per share (EPS) of NT$0.79 last year.

Prosperity Dielectrics is a producer of MLCC (multi-layer ceramic chip capacitors), chip resistors, and ceramic dielectric powder and listed on the local over-the-counter bourse. The company also held this year's shareholder meeting on June 27, with the distribution of a cash dividend of NT$0.5 and a stock dividend of NT$0.5 for a total of NT$1.0 per share endorsed.

Prosperity Dielectrics scored revenue of NT$1.341 billion, pretax profit of NT$122 million, after-tax profit of NT$130 million, and net (after-tax) EPS of NT$1.37 last year.
