Tong-Tai Machine, Rechi Precision posted revenue growth in May

Taipei, June 10, 2003 (CENS)--Tong-Tai Machine & Tool Co., Ltd. And Rechi Precision Co., Ltd., two local mechanical manufacturers listed on the local over-the-counter bourse, recorded an annual revenue growth of 18.82% and 10%, respectively, in May.

Tong-Tai is a main producer of a variety of machine tools. The company garnered revenue of NT$219 million in May, going up by 18.82% from the same month of last year. The company brought in cumulative revenue of NT$936 million in the January-May period this year, climbing by 43.50% from the same five months of last year.

Rechi Precision specializes in making compressors used in air conditioning equipment, with one factory each in Taiwan and in mainland China. The company's domestic operation rang up revenue of NT$301 million in May and NT$1.625 billion in the first five months, respectively rising by 10% and 2.2% from the corresponding periods of 2002. The five-month revenue attained 55% of the goal for this year.

Together with its mainland factory, Rechi Precision sold nearly 330,000 compressors last month, jumping by 74% from May last year. The company chalked up combined revenue of NT$410 million in May, up 33% from a year earlier.

The company delivered 1.72 million compressors during the January-May period this year, growing by 40.98% from the 1.22 million sets sold in the same period of last year. Meanwhile, the company raked in five-month combined revenue of NT$2.665 billion, climbing by 67.29% from the NT$1.593 billion registered in January-May last year.
