Taiwan's polyester textured yarn stock up 7.21% in April

Taipei, May 27, 2003 (CENS)--The inventory volume of polyester textured yarn in Taiwan stood at 72,192 metric tons at the end of April, increasing by 7.21% from the end of March.

According to the Taiwan Association of Synthetic Stretch Yarn Industries, the domestic inventory volume of polyester textured yarn seen as of the end of April this year rose by 4,857 metric tons or 7.21% from the 67,335 metric tons posted at the end of the preceding month. The inventory seen at the end of last month was the historically highest level.

In the meantime, all domestic producers of polyester textured yarn turned out about 65,200 metric tons in April, dropping by 14,600 metric tons or 18.30% from the 79,800 metric tons produced in March this year.

Meanwhile, the total stock volume of polyester filament yarn, the material of polyester textured yarn, rose by 774 metric tons or 1.50% from the 51,636 metric tons at the end of March 2003 to the 52,410 metric tons at the end of last month. However, the output of 74,800 metric tons of polyester filament yarn for last month slipped by 23,000 metric tons or 23.5% from the 97,800 metric tons produced in the preceding month.
